Response 4: Summer of 17

It’s funny, but I remember that Summer, the one when we all turned 17, like it was yesterday.  Though many years have passed since then.
My favourite dress was a long, hippy-styled thing, in shades of violet, with an old-fashioned bodice.
Oh, how I loved that dress! It made me feel like a princess.
The warm summer nights were indigo darkness, perfect for dancing for hours and hours.
And for long, lazy talks about what we wanted to do when we all grew up (ages and ages from now).
The places we wanted to visit, the people we wanted to meet, the experiences that we would have.  Nothing was impossible.
Our twenties were years away, and so were our futures.
Now was a time for firsts... first kisses... first touches... first loves...
It was all so very innocent.
There was no rush.
We had all the time in the world.

An enchanting, finely crafted trip down memory lane. Youth and first times go hand in hand but age has redeeming features as well of course.
