Response 2: Trapped

White. All I’ve seen in a week is white. Guess I shouldn’t complain I bet this is the ‘cleanest’ view anyone has ever seen. I should be optimistic. It’s not white, it is Mr. Matthews walking his dog. “Hello Mr. Matthews, nice day we’re having”

Is it a nice day? I don’t know. “What do you think Mr. Matthews?” Wait, who am I talking to? I feel like I’m going mad.

White. All I’ve seen in 10 days is white. I have every right to complain I bet this is the most boring view anyone has ever seen. I am feeling pessimistic. My radio died, my food has run out and all I can think of is Mr. Matthews and his dog. God I hated that mutt. “Oi, get that dog off my lawn!”

Stupid dog. What dog? Am I mad?

White. All I’ve seen in two weeks is white.

  1. Reminiscent of the Shining, this story delivers on multiple levels. Is he trapped physically as well as mentally? Is it snow or a white canvas? Well done, a close second place.
