It wasn’t supposed to happen to me. This is the kind of thing that happens in the movies or to someone else, but not to me.
He was my best friend in every sense of the word. He made me laugh; he knew how I was feeling by just looking at me. He always had time for me, never judged me, and always protected me. What was I supposed to do now, without him?
Dad always thought we’d end up together. But that idea made us both equally feel queasy.
Maybe it’s the memory of when we were 14... Hormones jangling!
‘I’ll show you mine if you show me yours’ He said
So we did.
I went first. He smiled. I’ll never forget that smile.
Now his turn – ‘1 2 3!’
‘JESUS CHRIST!’ I ran inside crying ‘I never want to see one of those again!’
