Response 2: Rocky Road

Cruise control on, backstreet boys greatest hits on full blast, it was a clear way to Arizona.

Traveling across America was always something I dreamt of and today I was living the American dream.

Continuing down the beaten track I felt uneasy but of course I trusted my sat nav, I'd downloaded the latest version.

The rocky roads seemed subdued for the time of day, and I couldn’t help but think that I was being mislead in some way.

Turn left at the next exit- was this woman crazy? The right turn would lead me straight onto the Grand Canyon. Perhaps there was a shortcut over, and besides I wanted to see the Rocky Mountains in full glory.

As the RV tipped over the edge of the cliff and left me suspended 6,000 I reflected on my stupidity to trust in technology. Although the view from up there was great!

  1. Haha, this reminds me of the time my Sat Nav took me up a dirt track at the side of a canal, the track got narrower and narrower until finally I had to reverse two miles to turn around!

  2. Haha, same thing happened to me on a trip to Whitby to see Dracula.
Ironically I ended up outside a stake house! ;)
