Response 5: Just 50p

My £300,000 house had been on the market for 12 months with only a handful of viewings.  I was desperate now, having been made redundant 6 months earlier funds were really running low.  My idea is to sell 1 million raffle tickets at 50p per ticket then one person wins my house.  Ok I hear you thinking that’s £500,000 not £300,000, will here’s the trick!  I’m going to ‘buy’ 400,000 tickets, the remaining 600,000 will give me the £300,000 I need, genius!  I’ve thought about cheating, but the freakin gaming council have appointed an independent adjudicator, but with 400,000 tickets my chances are quite high.

The tickets sold very quickly, I mean 50p for a chance to win a house who wouldn’t have a go or ten?

‘Ticket number 258642’ belonged to a kid who used his pocket money, I walked away with £300,000, the kid moved into my house.

  1. Brilliant! Just goes to show the odds are not always in your favour! Although everyone was a winner in the end
