As the word left my mouth, my muscles tightened. With little clue of where this outburst was going, I stood still and reaffirmed my stance.
People were staring now. They had put down their pens, focused their attention on me, on my outburst.
“…I won’t do this ANYMORE…”
The emphasis on ‘anymore’ was a good. It was much better than just repeating my one-word anti-establishment stance. I am commanding this room.
“…I am better than you. I am stronger and I am the future of this organisation…”
YES, I am the master of my own destiny. The ‘better’ line may have been a little cocky but I was in the moment and I forgive myself because good leaders do that. I am the Walter White of the class. I’m breaking bad!
“Johnny, please sit down and get on with your English work…”
Maybe my leadership skills are best saved for after my exams.
